"childrens community nurses - invaluable"

About: Kettering General Hospital

My older daughter needed drugs via IV every day and so we had community nurses visit our house everyday to adminster the drugs. This was invaluable as it meant we didnt have a 4-6 wait at the hospital to receive the drugs. It meant we could have a bit of normality for our home life. The youngest child didnt have to spend hours (often past her bedtime) at hosptial whilst her older sister received the drugs. It also meant my older daughter was able to go back to school and so not get so far behind on her school work. The nurses were all lovely and helpful. They were able to answer any queries we had. After having spent a couple of weeks in hosptial it was great that with the home visits we were able to start spending more time as a familty again. It reduced stress all round for our family.
