"Emergency admission for severe abdominal pain"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

Referred to the Surgical Assessment Unit by my GP. Assessed very quickly and admitted for tests to try and find out what was causing the pain. In the end the problem was that my gall bladder was leaking into my stomach cavity and causing the pain. Because there were no gall stones it seemed OK on scans, etc. It was because of the determination of the surgical team that things were resolved. They went through options with me and we decided that they should carry out keyhole surgery to have a look inside. Good job they did. They resolved the issue by removing the offending gall bladder. All the other staff were wonderful. This is the sort of care that everyone should receive! The Nurses and Care Assistants were brilliant. So kind, empathetic and caring. The housekeeping staff, catering and cleaning, were also excellent.
