"maternity assement ward/larch ward"

hi I am writing this review to tell you about my experience at Newham hospital. I had my baby there last week. I was scared to go there at first because so many negative reviews but now after spending a week there I can tell you that its a good hospital with good staff. 90%of staff are good. as human we remember the bad stuff and forget the good stuff but I will tell you both. Morning and afternoon staff are good but evening staff are not as good and some are useless. They were very helpful and they made me feel relaxed. They give good advice. They were doing there job properly. 1 negative point about maternity assessment ward i was that when I pressed the button they told me to press if I need anything from midwife. I pressed the button because they were supposed to have me on monitor for 30 min but it had been more then 1hr. some rude midwife came she said you need to shout her name anytime you need her. I think this is total rubbish other patients were sleeping at 9pm and she told me to shout for my midwife. 2nd bad point. larch ward women who was in the next bed to mine could not move after having a baby and she asked the night staff in (larch ward) for drinking water and midwife reply (I am here to check your blood pressure I can not give you water) I thought this is bad behaviour. if a person asked me on my road for some water from my house I will give him/her but this midwife is getting paid but she refused to give water. I had c section and I asked the midwife to make baby milk for my baby on the first night she said I will show you where the kitchen is. I wish I could do the same to her and see how it feels. I guess they can not do this for every patient but patients who have c section are not able to look after there new born easily. Night staff need to improve. NHS needs to put cameras with mic in ward so supervisors can hear how some midwifes talk to patients. My over all experience is good. service is excellent. My only reason for writing this review is that so night shift staff can improve. Hope this review was helpful
