I contracted a chest infection with flu like symptoms with shivers, aches, pains, and unwittingly left it untreated until it had developed in to a serious problem where my breathing was erratic and my temperature had sky rocketed. The resultant condition which I was left meant I was very much in real trouble so had no other choice than to contact paramedics to get me out of this frighteningly precarious situation. I was offered the choice of St Georges or Croydon University Hospital I chose CUH for no other reason than convenience of locality? and was lead to believe that once diagnosed I'd be administered anti-biotics and would be on my way within hours.
The reality was very different and I had to be admitted for treatment in the Purley 2 bay 4 ward where the Nurses helped my recovery with almost military precision in regards to the way in which they administered treatments and health checks on hourly intervals and the relevant time slots for medicine etc.
The Nurses were all very professional and helpful and were extremely caring and friendly and this helped me to feel confident and reassured that I was in very capable hands and helped to dissipate any reservations or misconceptions I may have previously had.
Thank you very much ladies I thought I was in serious trouble until you had shown me that I obviously wasn't.
