I was admitted to the Northern General hospital with the diagnosis of acute abdominal appendicitis. However, I explained that I had my appendix removed 20 years ago, but my old notes could not be found in to prove this. As a result, I think that it would be good if a copy of a patient's notes is given to them upon completion of their treatment at the hospital - that way, there should always be a complete history of a patient's treatment available for review.
