We so often read negative complaints about the NHS and treatment of patients, our treatment has been absolutely amazing. Last night our baby daughter took a turn for the worse, we called NHS direct for advice and they informed us we needed an ambulance. They stayed on the phone keeping us calm while the ambulance came on its way. First within less than 2 minutes came a paramedic car, then another then an ambulance all within a few minutes. Each was incredibly organised, calm and reassuring while carefully checking our daughter. She was taken in ambulance to the Peds A & E while I followed in the car. She was monitored, given treatment and the upmost care once at A & E and luckily she was well enough to then come home. I can not say enough thanks to all of the staff involved, the original paramedics we later learnt were RAF volunteers, how lovely of them to give up their time to help us. Everyone of the NHS's staff from paramedics to reception to nurses & a doctor were friendly, professional and helpful. Not the NHS that people complain about. Our daughter was also born at RBH and we had the same experience with her birth, brilliant staff also. We would like to thank all of those that helped us with Harriet last night, I hope our positive comments are fed back to the staff who work so hard and well to help us. Thank you all, you all made a very traumatic time for us less so.
