My wife woke in the night with her heart rate racing, we were advised by NHS advice line (111) to make our way to nearest A&E department. After a 30minute trip arrived at Weston General A&E reception around 4:00am on a Saturday morning. My wife's discomfort prompted a nurse to check her pulse. Quickly assessed as about 190bpm. A wheelchair was found and she was moved to major ward. Checks confirmed SVT. All staff were constantly reassuring and efficient in their treatment. The stay was approximately 4 hours in all, until my wife's condition had stabilised sufficiently to allow her to return home. We are both grateful for the excellent treatment received in a stressful time.
"Treatment of my wife's SVT incident."
