"The only option I was given was a chance of four separate times"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

I wrote this prior to my appointment. After 12 months of bone pain I had to push for this appointment through my GP.

I had no knowledge of any appointment details until TRAQS phoned me. The only option I was given was a chance of four separate times.

But I am confident that the appointment itself will be a fine experience.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Please accept my apologies that you were not informed by your GP that your referral would be sent to and managed by TRAQS. There is a TRAQS patient’s leaflet, which is available to be handed by all GP Practices/GPs. Each patient who is referred by their GP should be given one of these leaflets which explains the service, the steps in the process and contains contact telephone numbers within TRAQS should you wish to discuss your appointment. If you would like to contact TRAQS directly on 01952 580441, we can arrange for a TRAQS leaflet to be sent to you.

We also note that you feel that you were not offered much choice in regards to your appointment. In most circumstances, TRAQS will offer patients a range of hospitals/clinics. However, if your GP has requested a specific hospital/consultant for you, then TRAQS must honour this. This may account for why you were only offered a small selection of appoinments.
