The Pembury hospital is by far the best hospital I have ever been to. My husband was recently taken there by ambulance after an accident at work. This is not our local hospital and I am so pleased that his accident happened where it did as our local hospital is no where not a patch on Pembury. His accident saw him admitted to A&E where he was seem promptly and the nurses were very friendly, even lending me a phone chargerto charge my phone that had gone dead. From there he was taken to resuss as needed closer montitoring. Here again the doctors and nurses kept us calm and informed us of everything that was going on. After about an hour he was moved to intensive care where the care was out of this world. As we live over an hour away and they were unsure as to whether my husband would be operated on during the night, they gave me a relative room which I was able to keep for the first two days and nights. The treatment and care that he receieved throughout the four days he was in intensive care was exceptional, from the consultants , the nurses through to the cleaners. Special mention though has to go to one particular nurse who looked after my husband on the 2nd day in hospital. She was so so lovely and made us both feel so relaxed and at ease at such a worrying time. The recovery that he made on this day was amazing. The following day was her day off, but as she had to visit the hospital for another reason, she popped in to see how he was doing. When he was moved to the surgical ward - Ward 11, we were worried that we would see a massive difference between the level of care, but we could not have been more wrong. The private rooms were amazing, the nursing staff and the doctors fab. Both of his doctors were so informative and you felt that they had so much time for you. One doctor ensured that he came back to see me in the afternoon to answer my questions that I had left for my husband to ask! ( Call me a control freak!) He then stopped me in the restaurant later on that day to check if I had anymore questions! On discharge, the doctor made sure that she wrote down any information my husband may need and again gave him so much time and care. There was no such thing that you felt like just a number. I cannot recommend this hospital enough and thank the staff for making our time at the hospital so less stressful than it could have been. Thankyou so so much. your staff should be congratulated.
"Amazing hospital, amazing care."
