What I liked
My father was in EDG with a heart attack last December. Coronary Care Unit was a fantastic setup. The nurses there were professional, efficient, helpful and friendly.
What could be improved
The nursing care on the general ward was slapdash and unprofessional.
Instructions from doctors were not passed on effectively (catheters not removed for days, medication not given on time, left on NIL BY MOUTH when the doctor had said he could be taken off). One nurse leant on the bed making it partially collapse, which could easily have set off another heart attack.
They also seem to be pretty understaffed for a ward where there is a high number of elderly & confused patients.
