"Pain clinic consultation"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

After 7 months suffering with a prolapsed disc I was glad to be attending the Pain Clinic to help with my pain relief and recovery. Unfortunately I was told to do limited exercise and was referred to a website that may help me. A complete let down and not even sure the consultant had read my notes properly, complete waste of my time, in fact Treliske Hospital has let my down on each visit for the past 7 months. I have learnt more about my condition on the internet than from any member of staff. I'm embarressed it can be called a 'royal' hospital.

It is disappointing to receive reports of consultations that patients consider to have been unsatisfactory. As a team we strive to work together with patients to provide a compassionate and safe service with a focus upon respect and open communication. Whilst it is not appropriate to comment on individual cases in this format we would always encourage patients to bring up any concerns with either their named health care professional or a senior pain clinician in the first instance. Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback - Pain Management Team
