I was admitted to ward 34 (room 1 ) day unit after having a toe fusion , the staff leading up to the operation were fantastic , especially the anaesthetists who kept me calm while having my spinal block , and talked me through the whole process from start to finish, and the doctor who performed the operation was a much needed calm presence before and during the operation. Once in recovery , I was very impressed with the way I was looked after , I had a nurse by my side the whole time , and even after taking a sickly reaction to the spinal , the other anaesthetist came to see how I was , giving me all the pain relief I needed and even then talking to me , making me laugh even when I thought I was going to be sick , ( I will be forever grateful for that ). Once transferred to ward 34 , I could not fault the nurses , fantastic service , anything I needed , I got without a fuss , they made me extremely comfortable and even give me extra blankets because I was so cold after my operation ( another thing I am so thankful for ). I had to stay in over night and they knew I was not keen on this but they kept my spirits up , a big thank you to the nurse who kept me company and talked to me on the ward when I was pulling my hair out with boredom ! he was an angel! Overall it was a 5* service , you could not ask for better help and support , physio was also quick to come round and sort me out with everything I needed and I was swiftly discharged in the afternoon . If I ever needed to have an operation again I would hope it would be at this hospital , thank you everyone for making what could of been so horrible , a pleasant experience.
"excellent service . 5 star service."
