"Thyroid consultant knows nothing ..."

What I liked

Thyroid consultant knows nothing at all about the thyroid & symptoms a patient gets when it becomes over or underactive!!!

I belong to The British thyroid foundation, read many books on the subject & joined many online forums.

I know more than the doc...who when I say what i know makes me feel like a liar...telling me I am not right... and making me come close to tears when leaving the appt. I have spoke to many in the waiting room on many occasions & most feel the same.

What could be improved

The Doctor/Consultant needs to go on refresher courses & learn about Thyroid disease before treating patients!

The nurses on the Clinic stand around chatting to each other & now & then have to weigh or take blood pressure, they should be made wto work instead of busy doing nothing. You can not approach them with a query as they are usually too busy chatting

Anything else?

You should leave a doc feeling better in your self & especially your health, this IS NOT the case
