"Staff and rediculous waiting times"

About: Darent Valley Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Twice in one week we were asked to go to the fracture clinic, both times we were given a time to see the Doctor and on both occasions waited over 3 hours past our allotted time, when I asked the nurses why it was so long they were abrupt and one even stated that it was 3 hours nearer to her retirement.

It makes me think the longer they keep you, the more money the car park makes, how appropriate. This hospital and some of the staff in the fracture clinic are to me a disgrace.

Dear Brian

We were very sorry to read this review and do sincerely apologise for how long you had to wait in the Fracture Clinic. Delays may occur for a number of reasons including doctors needing to spend longer with patients than the alloted time but please be assured it is nothing to do with car parking charges. The car parks on site at Darent Valley Hospital are not operated by the hospital but by a private company and this would have no reflection on how long you may have to wait.

We also apologise if a nurse spoke to you inappropriately, this is definately not what we expect from our staff. All of your comments will be passed onto Fracture Clinic Manager.

Kind regards

The Communication Team
