"Loss of Records and treatment"

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road Campus)

Way back in August I came to Moorefields Hospital for 2 days and was pleased that they found blood at the back of my left eye and advised me to take asprin Because in the past I had a brain operation (to try to stop my epilepsy) at Maudsley Hospital I was told I would be seeing a Neurological specialist and was told to stay by the phone for 2 days as they would be getting me an appointment ASAP to have a series of tests. As you may guess the phone call never came, so I phoned the hospital "25 times" over 2 days to get hold of the person who was dealing with my case - only to find out she was on holiday and they had lost all trace of my records. I came back to Moorfields again to see another person in August and was told I would be seeing someone in the Neurology section in October after I getting back from my holiday in September 2013. When we arrived back from holiday I received a letter telling me I would not be seeing anyone until February 2014. I feel very let down as something serious could have happened.!! I do hope this does not happen to other patients!! How do you keep your records??

I'm sorry to hear about this. It would be helpful if you could provide further details, including your full name, hospital number and the dates on which you visited to our patient advice and liaison service (PALS). They will be able to investigate this more fully and give you proper feedback about what has happened and what action we can take to correct it. You can contact the PALS team via email to pals@moorfields.nhs.uk.
