"Fantastic care "

About: Stafford Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I injured my leg playing Squash on a Monday evening in February. My wife took me to A&E at about 19. 00 for an initial assessment, the diagnosis being suspected Achilles tendon rupture. I was put in a cast and given an appointment for the next day.

On the Tuesday, I was assessed and the rupture confirmed with an ultrasound scan. I elected for the surgical rupture repair and given a tentative appointment for an operation on the next day. Wednesday lunchtime I was admitted operated on and with an overnight stay, released on Thursday.

During all of this, the care and attention I received was terrific, no complaints whatsoever - maybe the rhubarb crumble could have been better!

Dear "Mountain Biker"

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I am delighted that your care has been provided to a high standard and hope your leg is now well on the way to recovery. I have shared your posting with the T&O team who I know will be delighted to receive such positive feedback. Try not to get too frustrated at not being able to play squash for a while!

Kind Regards

Angela Grocott
