"Broken toe - Saturday night"

About: Warwick Hospital

I broke my toe on the evening of Saturday 15 Feb. It was clearly broken as it was sticking out at an angle which made me feel a bit faint. At Warwick A&E I was admitted, interviewed, x-rayed, assessed, anaesthetised, had it straightened and strapped, advised on aftercare and discharged within 40 minutes! Amazing - how could you better that? You couldn't. I was worried about moving from Brum because I felt we had the best hospital in the land there but I honestly couldn't fault Warwick A&E. Big thank you! There were wheelchairs available by the entrance which was invaluable for me. I was given the option of injections or doing the straightening without. They showed me my x-rays so I could see where the problem was and I was told what needed to be done. The staff were calm, efficient, showed some empathy but stayed focused on the task. Wish I'd got the names of the staff on duty.

Thank you very much for sharing these lovely comments, I will pass them on to the A&E team.
