What I liked

Most staff were very friendy and treated people with respect. Food was pretty good considering budget and logistic constraints. All staff in CCU were excellent, helpful and courteous.

What could be improved

Not all staff in ward 24 were excellent, helpful and courteous. Medications were missed or mis-timed. Staff on the discharge ward did not fully understand the abbreviations on the discharge papers and the dosages on one of the medications was wrong (changed after I pointed it out).

Anything else?

There was an elderly lady in the discharge ward in her nightclothes waiting to be collected. She couldn't see at all well and was in a wheelchair and had been there since about 9 a.m. When I arrived about 3 p.m. she'd been given a cup of tea at lunchtime and nothing else at all. She hadn't even been told (she couldn't see it) there was water and cups available on a table six feet away from her.
