I came in for a pacemaker fitting and had to wait 6 hours. This delay was caused by a bed shortage due to a sudden increase in A&E admittances. The staff apologised (though it was unavoidable) and kept myself and the other patients up to date throughout.
I was then fitted with the pacemaker thanks to the nursing staff staying on an extra hour so it could be done. I have nothing but praise for them and the treatment I subsequently received in the ward.
It is the second time I have been admitted to Tameside in the last 12 months and I have found it to be good in every way.
