"Good treatment but poor communication"

About: Worcestershire Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

Dad was taken to Worcester A & E in February with chest pains. It was extremely busy there and there was about 10 patients been treated in the corridor - Dad included. It was about 4 hours until Dad got into a cubicle. However, the treatment he received was fantastic, from Porter to Matron everyone one couteous and kind. Although he was in the corridor he was far from neglected.

My only issue was not being told what was going to happen. It would have been good if we had been told that there would be a series of blood tests that had to be taken a certain time apart and it would have given us an idea of how long things would take.

Otherwise - thank you to all the staff on duty that night.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a comment online. I apologise for the lack in communication regarding the plan with the particular blood tests your Father needed. I have fed this back to all staff. Whilst we always try and keep communication between the staff and patients/relatives as the highest of priorities, I do again apologise for it not being communicated with you or your Father. This has been very valuable comment. I am pleased that overall you had a positive experience and we all wish your Father well in his recovery. Lisa Spencer, Department Manager, A&E
