"Left waiting at home - again"

About: King George Hospital

My mother who is 82 years old was supposed to be collected approx. 2.30 on 10/2/14 to go to King George Hospital Anti Coagulant clinic. Nobody came to collect her, no phone call from the hospital/clinic and she has tried several times to contact the department without success. I have tried several times without success even being put through to a fax machine. How can this be correct? I managed to get through on the phone and guess what ' due to a high demand of patients trying to call all I could do was leave a message' This is not the first time this has happened I am now . seriously considering contacting the local newspaper This is disgusting to treat the elderly like this or anybody for that matter. It will be interesting to see if anybody gets back to me or my mother

Thank you for leaving your comment on NHS Choices. I am sorry to hear that your mother was not collected to attend the anticoagulant clinic. To look into this further I require more details from you. Please contact me through our PALS team on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk. Yours sincerely, Stephen Burgess Medical Director
