I have to say I am absolutely disgusted by the care I received from the labour and delivery ward. It has taken me since July 2013 to come to terms with this issue and i have only now been able to manage to write a review here. I was taken by ambulance to the labour ward on gas and air do to contractions at 32 weeks gestation (the ambulance staff are brilliant) once on the bed the midwife hooked me up to the machines to measure contractions and due to ill placed bands the monitor was unable to pick up contractions. Then she insisted i just had a water infection! writhing in pain and clearly contracting she removed the gas and air from me even though a water sample revealed ketones. Deciding to discharge me with this "water infection she needed a doctor to examine me before leaving. The doctor came in, found me more than 4cm dilated and my baby's foot! I will spare the nitty gritty but a further examinations by a registrar resulted in an emergency C-section at 32 weeks and my baby requiring intensive care on SCBU. This department needs some serious work. I for one would rather give birth behind a bush than have another baby at this hospital. Not just a trauma for me but also all of the family. This experience has destroyed my confidence in medical professionals.
