A few days before Christmas I had to call 999 for an ambulance for my husband, he’s under treatment at the St Peter’s Hospice but was at home at this time.
Within 5 minutes I had someone from the fire brigade (! ) followed within minutes by an ambulance from Yate.
The paramedic, Tracy Hart, was excellent. I could not get over how well she and the driver Tim treated my husband. These two young people were so caring.
After examining my husband the decision was to take him to Frenchay hospital. The ride to the hospital was the smoothest, best route that Tim could take. He made sure my husband did not experience any more discomfort than he was already suffering - this was so thoughtful.
Just one other point I’d like to make – I had to have an ambulance out last November when the driver explained they used a sat-nav to get them around. The sat-nav takes a very winding route through all the villages but on this occasion in December the route to the hospital was via the Powerstation Road which is more straightforward. Tim took this route because he knew the area. Could all the ambulances use this route?
