I've attended the rheumatology department for about 5 years and I have formally complained once about a member of staff so I thought it only fair to congratulate the place when I have a positive experience. I went along for my annual checkup. A few pleasant interactions with other waiting patients put me in a good mood and then i was seen not by my consultant but by one of his underlings - I'm sorry, that's not a polite way to put it but I didn't catch her name. She was excellent. Friendly, respectful, thoughtful, polite, solicitous, and cheerful. She examined my joints more thoroughly than anyone else has, was concerned about the nausea I experience from methotrexate, suggested some ways to lessen it and upped the level of one drug that can combat it, and even offered the possibility of an injected alternative. We mused together whether the rain and cold can worsen symptoms or if it's just confirmation bias. She congratulated me on my blood results and gently suggested a bit of exercise mightn't be a bad thing. A very positive experience. More like her please.
"A very pleasant experience"
