"Admitted at 8am on Day Case Ward, ..."

About: Weston General Hospital

(as the patient),

What could be improved

Admitted at 8am on Day Case Ward, no restriction to eating or drinking as I was having a local anethestic. No food or drink offered all day, went for surgery at 4.30pm which lasted 30 minutes, discharged at 5.30pm. I sat on the ward for 8 and a half hours, I wasn't informed when my surgery would take place, apart from 'mid morning' when I was admitted, I lost a days pay, just to sit and watch the nurses. Not advised that I would have such a long wait, would be useful to advise patients to take a book and dressing gown.
