"Consequences of hurried treatment"

About: Broomfield Hospital / Burns care

(as the patient),

In May last year I was admitted to Billericay ward with a severely infected finger. I had surgery that day (Wednesday) to drain the wound, which was stitched lightly. The following Saturday I had surgery again, more drainage, again lightly stitched. The following day (Sunday) the Drs came round, the "Dr" ripped my dressing off taking stitches and skin with it. This doctor was in a hurry and thoughtless. Consequently there wasn't any skin to use to close the wound. The surgeon operated again, but nothing could be done. Consequently I had to have my finger amputated. This has affected me badly. I am now being disbelieved re follow up surgery, another story. The "Doctor" ripped my skin off should not be allowed near a burns unit. I do have photos of my finger.
