Today I escorted a friend of mine to the oncology unit to collect her course of chemotherapy. Her appoinmentment with the medical staff was dealt with very efficiently and pleasantly. However, it was a different story when at the end of the appointment she was prescribed additonal medication for another problem. The prescription was taken by hand to the pharmacy to save us a long wait, even so we had to wait 55mins. for 10 tablets to be ready, this was after promting by the medical staff. My friend is very unwell and found it quite exhausting. We both felt that the pharmacy let us and the unit down badly.
