"Ward 33 Physiotherapy Team"

About: University Hospital Aintree

My mum has recently returned home from Aintree Hospital having experienced a major stroke, with subsequent complications, that resulted in a 6 month stay in the hospital. The stroke resulted in marked disability to the left side of her body and left side visual field, rendering her virtually unable to move her left arm but also initially unable to walk. However with the sheer dedication, knowledge and wealth of experience from the physiotherapy team on Ward 33 (Stroke Rehabilitation Unit) mum gradually learned to walk again, albeit with assistance, but still providing her with the basis on which to rebuild her confidence and physical strength. Mum described at length the compassion, professionalism and respect the physiotherapy team exercised at all times while they performed their duties. Further she spoke most of all about their enthusiasm, genuine encouragement and personable manner, which meant that her important physiotherapy sessions were not only an essential feature of her care plan but also they also became the highlight of her day! On behalf of mum and all our family we would like to express our gratitude to all of the staff on Ward 33 but in particular the physiotherapy team that have helped mum to develop the skills and origins of confidence that she needs to rebuild her life at home.

We're very pleased to hear that your mum was well cared for by our teams. Thanks very much for taking the time to send this message, which we'll pass on to the staff involved.
