"Diagnosis of diabetes"

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital

My 10 year old was admitted to Charlie's Day unit late evening on 10 th February 2014. He was quickly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The care has been outstanding. Every doctor, nurse and the diabetic support team have been welcoming, supportive, compassionate and professional. They have managed to lessen the blow of the diagnosis, reassuring the patient and family and handling the situation with great sensitivity. In addition, the facilities in the unit are excellent not to mention immaculate making the stay much more bearable. The team should be commended for exceptional NHS care.
