"My father is being left to die through criminal..."

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

My father is currently on Gundulph Ward and was meant to have been transferred to the Royal Brompton Hospital within 48hours of admission. One week late later he has not been moved. He has steadily deteriorated since his admission. Over the weekend no doctor came to see him. This morning (Monday) he was seen by a consultant team and when he asked if he was being transferred to day he was told 'we will see'. NO ONE has made any attempt to communicate what is going on. The Medway chest consultant does not know how to treat my father and is clearly leaving him to die. What kind of health care is is? My father has also given many years service as a chaplain at the Medway Hispital. My mother for many years worked as a staff nurse on intensive care at the Medway. Is this how they are to be repaid for their loyal service? Please do something and at least try to save my dad.

We are very sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your father's care on Gundulph Ward. I have asked the consultant team to make contact and discuss these issues with you. Should you wish to discuss your concerns and experiences with me directly, please contact me on 01634 830000 x3132 to arrange a time. Simon Weeks, Interim General Manager
