"If it's urgent avoid this hospital"

About: Barnet Hospital

I wrote on this website previously saying asking how long does one have to wait when your doctor has requested an urgent appointment which my doctor did in the first week of December 2013. After writing the letter I received the standard letter asking me to telephone to make an appointment which I did only to be told they were unable to make any more appointments as the doctor was fully booked to the middle of March and they would keep me on a list to be telephoned if an appointment was cancelled. I would receive a letter from them but to ignore it. I am shocked how this hospital treats urgent requests, you could die waiting. My doctor sent the same urgent request to UCH which was my hospital of choice in the first place but denied as I was told I had to be seen locally , I am happy to say they are seeing me this week. At UCH they have a special team dealing with urgent appointments , Barnet should do the same. Kenneth Pickett
