"dissapointed but understand but needs addressing..."

About: South Tyneside District Hospital

Okay so iv been to A&E twice in the last month with pains. First time I was in agony and was just left in the waiting room while nearly rolling around helplessly in pain. Fair enough they must of been busy and I know how stretched nurses/doctors can ve especially considering it was a saturday night ! The second time riund which was last thursday and I was took via ambulance to south tyneside hospital again for the same problem. Parametics were lovely people and give me gas and air straight away which helped for the journey. The nurse I was greeted with was friendly and very understanding. I was in agony my pain rating of a 8. A different nurse come in to take blood and I thought was very rude telling me to get up quickly as the way I was lying she wasnt able to take bloods when many of doctors/nurses have took them while lying down. Then she walked out not even attempting my bloods. The nurse I first seen came in and told me I needed a wee sample which tiped me over the edge in tears all I wanted was pain relieve. Another nurse came in to look at my bloods as I have really bad/thin veins which give some a hard time being the time I was in for dehydration took them 9 attempts to get one in just and kept leaking/not putting glocouse into me. Anyways back to the story so the nurse looking at my veins just looked and went to get another doctor. He came in and I told him while in agony I knew from experience you could only get bloods from one place on ny right arm in the usual blood taking spot. Did he lisen ? No ! 5 painful attemps later he got someone else to try and I told this nurse the same thing where to get bloods. Did he lisen ? YES and got bloods straight away from the place I had adviced now if they lisened to me none of these really big bruises woukd if happened and I would of got pain relieve quicker. Oh and I must add the last nurse who got my bloods forgot the tubes to put the blood in and so I had to hold my own needle while he went and got some. And also the nurse or whoever before him left his needle kit behind just lying on my legs like i was some kind of table. Finally got pain relieve and pains subsided and everything was okay from there and a doctor seen to me and getting a scan sorted just got a month to wait :$ thought the pains are more likely to occure next month and ofcourse very painful I might be terrified to go back to A&E because of the care I was given but I understand people dont realise how busy hospitals are but I feel its very important that the nurses/doctors lisen to their pasients and try understand how their feeling. Also to realise if the pasients in agony want to hold their own needle in place and be used as a table and ps the nurse also forgot to take the tightening strap off my arm after I had my needles which was to much pain to realise but I just say my arm was a lovely purple colour. I am suspecting gallstones also doctors suspitions yet have to wait over a month to be seen by someone :(
