"care of my father"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

disgusting and humiliating is the only way i can discribe the way my father was treated, he had a blood clot on his brain four fractured ribs pneumonia mild stroke, and on addmission notes patient was intoxicated absoultly disgusting that a 75 year old man is treated this way in 2014, not acceptable, a staff nurse left him in wet bed i asked for assistance to be told thats why there is a buzzer at the side of his bed use it, i was told, there where only two nurses that actually cared for my father in a respectable way the rest of the staff where rude ignorant and did not look after my father, god forbid if my father took ill again i would not reccomend this hospital at all i would make sure he was at a different hospital. He was in A AND E then moved to a ward the folowing day.

Dear Sir / Madam, as the Matron for the Emergency Department at East Lancashire Hospitals Trust can I first of all express my regret that your fathers recent experience of our service has not lived up to the standard that we would have expected. I am sorry to hear that you felt that there were a number of issues during the consultation that gave you cause to raise concerns. Whilst I am unable to comment on the specific circumstances around the attendance, we do take every message of feedback as an opportunity to learn about how our services can be improved for the future, whether that be positive feedback or otherwise. Should you wish for me to investigate the specific circumstances to your feedback I would be more than happy to do so, in order that we can provide you with some answers and assurances around how we can take these issues forward to your satisfaction. If you would like for us to do so, please contact Matron Janet Hackin through 01254 263555 or via email janet.hackin@elht.nhs.uk
