"My Mothers Admission to Lincoln Hospital"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Occupational Therapy Lincoln County Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My Mum was admitted to Lincoln Hospital 2 weeks ago after collapsing at home. Mum has never been admitted into hospital and must of been very frightened as this was a very sudden illness to a normally fit lady.

Mum was eventually admitted onto Hatton ward and was there for 1 week. The staff were wonderful to Mum. I must admit having visited many older patients at a local hospital in East London and seeing the lack of staff I was pleasantly surprised at the number of staff on duty in Hatton ward and also the ease I was able to speak with a Doctor on the ward as there seemed to be a plentiful supply of them which was fantastic.

The meal menu for each day was really good and it was nice to see a huge amount of volunteers and staff all lining up at lunch to help feed the patients if required rather than my local hospital where the food is horrendous and usually left for the patient to feed themselves even if they were infirm and unable to do so...hats off to Hatton Ward.

Also a big thank you to Occupational Health who were also very helpful and full of idea's, thank you Hayley.

Mum needed some follow up appointments, within 5 days after being dis-charged from hospital had her first appointment, then received a letter with further appointments within 4 weeks, excellent service.

It's so easy to put pen to paper and complain, but it's lovely to be able to write something positive.
