I accompanied my daughter and grandson to an appointment for chronic infections in both my grandsons ears. This has been going on for nearly 6 months and has not be resolved and my grandson is in constant pain due to this.
We waited 1. 5 hrs to be seen by the Doctor who then spent just 7 minutes with us coming to the conclusion that as his ears had infections he could do nothing and we were to return to the hospital in 3 weeks time.
My daughter was told to go to her GP to get ear drops and that it was probably his body trying to reject grommets despite my daughter giving the doctor a letter from the GP with the results of 3 different bacteria in the ears.
The receptionist then said there was no appointments until June 2014. This is disgraceful that a 5 year old child that has had a chronic infection since for nearly 6 months and nothing be offered as a solution despite also the Doctor having some concerns regarding his lack of hearing.
Had my daughter ignored getting my grandson medical treatment it could be regarded as a Child Protection concern. It now remains to be seen how long they wait for another appointment to see an ENT Doctor
