"My journey through drugs and alcohol addiction"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / The Woodlands (inpatient unit for substance misuse)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

On behalf of the Service User

My journey through drugs and alcohol addiction.

I found my detox hard for the first few days and was advised not to suffer in silence and if I needed anymore medication just to go and ask.

I found the envirement friendly and like a little family but at first I was very nervous and anxious when I first turned up and welcomed by other service users and staff.

The staff do not force you to do things and at time the staff do find ways to motivate us in a positive way which enpowers us as people.

The staff are very friendly and also the domestics.

If I was going to choose anywhere for a detox it would be Woodlands and I know because this is my second detox.

I wish all the staff at the Woodlands the very best for the help and confidence that they have made me achieve in myself.
