"Orthopaedic day surgery"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

Appalling, even the staff seemed annoyed at disorganisation. Arrived at 7am to be called into room by nurse to check history then shown into toilet to get changed, ended up sitting in corridor in op gown and dressing gown along with others of both sexes, spent next hour going into rooms to be interviewed by various Doctors, anaesthetist etc each time ending up back in corridor carrying all my clothes etc with me and eventually ending up in large lounge until being called for my op at noon, by which time I was nervous, upset, totally unrelaxed and felt like a piece of meat. Pontefract has right idea for day surgery giving you your own space for the duration of your stay, please read and learn.

We would be pleased to investigate the specifics in this case if the patient would like to contact us. On a more general note, the difference between Pontefract and Pinderfields is that Pontefract deals with elective (planned) surgery only; Pinderfields also takes emergency and trauma cases, which can impact on elective theatre lists.
