"Oakwood Midwives - totally fantastic"

I feel so lucky to have enjoyed the help, support and friendship of the team of Oakwood Midwives for both my pregnancies and labour.

To have all my ante-natal care at home was great, particularly with my second pregnancy as my first child was only 5months old!

They all take time to talk to you properly about any concerns or just to chat generally about how you're feeling being pregnant. They support a home or hospital birth if you want, but also actively encourage you to make a decision nearer the time, even once you're in labour if you want.

Despite best-laid plans, our home birth didn't happen and we ended up being induced at King's and then having an emergency C-section. But even this was a positive experience, made so by the constant support and guidance given by our Oakwood Midwives.

My husband has commented since just how reassuring he found it to have Oakwood support us during the pregnancy, labour and after the birth. We certainly don't plan to have any more children, but if we did, my first call after a positive pregnancy test would be to Oakwood!

I could not recommend them highly enough and hope that more midwife-led practices can be set up so other mums-to-be can benefit in the way I did.
