"midwives and healthcare assistants ..."

About: The James Cook University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

midwives and healthcare assistants were great, caring and proffesional both in antenatal clinic, the mdu and delivery suite

What could be improved

the sonographer who udertook my ultrasound scan was rude and discourteous.what should have been a happy time ( finding out the sex of my unborn child) turned into a time of upset and distress because of her attitude I am overweight beause of a chronic debilitating illness however i was made to feel like less of a human being because of this.Unfortunatly at times like this it is the negatives you dwell on rather that all the other many positive aspects of my care.

I am very sorry to read about the attitude of the Sonographer who performed your ultrasound scan. I would recommend that you contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 0282451, to discuss your concerns further.

Your comments will be forwarded to the Senior Management Team for Women and Children Services.
