"Wisdom teeth removal at QMC Day Surgery Unit"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Oral surgery

(as the patient),

I was a patient in the Day Surgery Unit at the Queen's Medical Centre for the removal of two wisdom teeth. The facilities at the QMC were very clean - the unit had an 'airport' feel to it. Also, I was amazed to receive an appointment only two weeks after my consultation.

The only problem we had was when my mum came to collect me. The unit had already closed, so the reception staff at the 'gates' had gone home. My mum had to walk round looking for someone to help her find me. I suggest that the hospital fits a bell or direct phone on the reception desk of each 'gate' so that people collecting patients out of hours (I wasn't the last to leave that evening) can phone through to the ward and let them know.

Overall, a 9 out of 10 experience - well done all!!
