I had to visit my GP yesterday to get some antibiotic tablets for a throat/chest infection that I have. Whilst speaking to him he said that I was overdue to have my cholestorel checked. He gave me the relevent form to have this done and told me to arrange this with the surgery's nurse.
Last year I had a couple of mini strokes and I take warfarin to thin my blood, this means having regular blood tests to check that my INR stays within the correct range.
As it happened I had a blood test booked for this morning at Leafield Clinic, Leeds, so whilst I was at the clinic I mentioned about needing a blood test to check my cholestorel. They took blood for my warfarin and for my cholestorel and sent both off with the paper work to the blood laboratory for the results which was great. The staff at Leafield Clinic are always brilliant, nothing is too much trouble and I always get my treatment at the time I pre-booked.
When I had my strokes last year my GP, hospital staff and support that I have had since has been fantastic. I take the prescribed medication and live a normal active life, thanks to the staff of the NHS.
"Blood Test."
