"A&E still a disgrace, no matter being re-vamped!"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

I attended A&E twice over 2 months due to kidney stones pain and both times was treated with utmost disregard despite being in horrible pain. I just wanted to be seen asap as my pain was horrific and I felt I was dying (I've had 5 children with only gas and air so I know a thing or two about pain). The first time took over 1 hour to be triaged and seen by a nurse, then what felt like ages to get some pain relief (an injection). The second time I attended, I was hardly standing and crying my eyes out as I entered the A&E and asked that I needed pain relief asap. Needless to say, I was overlooked and just told to sit down (which I couldn't due to the awful pain) and then after a long wait I just told my husband to take me home as I still had some painkillers that were prescribed to me from my previous attendance. I would like to know why isn't this chronic pain seen as urgent as the patient is doubled up in pain? I have previously had an admission to A&E in Paris and although I hardly understood them and they couldn't understand me, they could see that I was in horrible pain! What does it take to be seen urgently in A&E? North Middlesex Hospital appears to have spent million in cosmetic facelift and new buildings, but what should matter is the patients coming through the door! Please understand about this condition, and don't let people suffer unnecessarily!
