"not happy"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

My dads been coming to kings now off and on for 4years for various different things and now all of a sudden most recently his taken in with a stroke and in a matter of a week his been moved to 3different beds and now today the 6th day they decided to tell us that he has to be transfered to st Thomas hospital because apparently its his local hospital and kings wasnt.but in actual fact kings is closer as my dad has been living with me since his health got more complicated. This is very sad to move a person so old and frail his blood preasurebis extremely high and theses stresses can make people worse. I thimk the way in which they randomly did this and made this decistion is very unprofessional. My poor dad isnt happy and becausebof the stroke he cant fully express his.i know my dad andbhis been made ro feel like he has no say whatso ever. They really need to move people same day in future not the week later .im furiuos really appreciate there hard work but older people ahould really be more priority.seriously!

I am sorry to hear of the distress that the transfer of wards caused and the subsequent transfer to another Trust. There is a bed allocation and care process relating to patients requiring acute stroke care that we could explain in more detail to you if you would like to contact our Patient Advice and Liaisson Service on 0203 299 3601 kch-tr.PALS@nhs.net
