From the outset my care and attention from the staff was paramount. Having taken 2hours from walking into a local A&E before they finally called for an ambulance that took 3hours to arrive, including the pain in my stomach and negative stories of all hospitals at the forefront of my mind, I didn't think I was going to have the best experience. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and helpful, from the cleaning staff, catering assistants, health care assistants, nurses, doctors and consultants. Everything was explained to me at every step of the way. Every action was taken to keep me well. We all get fed up with our jobs but I can say that there wasn't one person on Ward 21 B that was a jobsworth. The place was immaculate, hygiene was key and it was apparent that cleanliness was key. Care Assistants and Nurses were doing their jobs but were friendly, polite and asked how you were for it was those who you have the most contact. Doctors and Consultants were friendly and even the surgeons took the time to relieve you by explaining the procedure. Most people cant wait to leave hospital, but my stay was made comfortable by all the staff there. You hear a lot of scaremongering on the news, like you do in all areas of the working world, and although Kings Mill is 20 miles away in the wrong direction from where I live and there are nearer hospitals, the question isn't Lincoln or QMC, but can I go to Kings Mill?
