"disgusted with staff on ward 17"

About: Good Hope Hospital

My father is currently on ward 17 after being moved from medical assessment unit. When he was moved late evening nobody bothered to explain to him why or where he was going he was dumped on ward 17 to put his belongings away and not 1 staff member came to speak to him to tell him why he had been moved there! Fortunately my father has a mobile phone and contacted my Mother who then rang the ward to be told they are very busy as there is more than you and would speak to him when she did the medication!! We visited the next day and I spoke to the nurse 'looking after' my father I asked her about what had been discussed with him by another Doctor on AMU she told me my father had also mentioned something to her but there was nothing in the notes, however when my brother visited that night she confirmed what the Doctor had told my Dad so either it was in the notes or she has just repeated what I've told her?? The staff on that ward are rude there is no kindness or empathy and reletives are made to feel they are a nuisance for asking about their poorly family member, people are there because they are ill it is not a choice. Nurses etc have a duty of care if nothing else!
