"Medical Assessment / Ambulatory Care Unit"

Consider this:- As requested, reported to unit 10am Monday for admission. Various tests performed. No beds available. Leave unit @ 9.30pm. As requested return to unit 9.30am. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. Various tests performed. Still no beds available. Leave unit each day @ 9.30pm. The following Monday, report to unit for admission @ 9.30am. Bed finally available @ 8.45pm. At 3am moved to a different ward. The staff work absolutely flat out. The doctors & nurses just never stop. They are amazing.! So what's the problem? A complete lack of co-ordination. Nobody knows what's been done / needs doing / already reported / communicated to patient. I had travelled to & from the hospital for 6 days ! Waited around for 12 hours a day sitting on an uncomfortable, upright chair, with a blood clot in my lung and a malignant tumour elsewhere. (What happened to the comfortable armchairs pictured as being in the waiting area?) Please consider 2 on -duty co-ordinators per shift. This will be helpful for all the hard working doctors & nurses on the unit and the long suffering, often very sick patients.
