"Excellent service, a model for other hospitals to..."

About: John Coupland Community Hospital

My elderly mother was admitted to Scotter ward following a fall which resulted in a serious fracture of her upper arm. She spent four weeks recovering and during that time every member of the family who visited her commented on not only the quality of care she was receiving, but also the cleanliness of both the ward and the hospital in general. My mother, and the other ladies in her section of the ward, frequently commented to us about the friendliness of the staff. On a number of occasions we saw how quickly and efficiently the nursing staff came to deal with an issue raised by a patient and always with a pleasant attitude, which is very reassuring especially when the patient is elderly. We cannot thank the staff enough for their work and dedication. We regularly read horror stories in the media about how bad out health service has become. Our experience with John Coupland Hospital shows that there is still at least one beacon of excellence burning brightly in Lincolnshire.

As the Clinical Team Lead for Scotter Ward, I would just like to express my sincere thanks for taking the time to share your positive experience and giving us feedback about the ward. We appreciate being admitted to a hospital can be a very anxious time for both patient and family so to hear that you felt reassured and that any needs were addressed promptly is excellent. The staff work hard to meet the individual needs of the patients so your feedback is very much appreciated.
