"Treatment of elderly patient"

About: Helston Community Hospital

I visited a 94-year-old friend who had been transferred to Helston for physiotherapy after a hip operation in January . The physiotherapist was on holiday at the time, and there was no replacement. At Treliske, my friend had been able to stand and walk a few steps. This mobility was lost at Helston. Food and drink were placed out of her reach, although she is unable to feed herself without assistance, and she lost weight during her time in Helston. The staff appear to have little understanding of dementia or the needs of the elderly..
