About: Airedale General Hospital

At first I thought the consultant might have a hearing problem because she didn't seem to catch what we were saying. We would say one thing and she would repeat back something different. It was most odd but as the consultation went on it was quite clear that she just doesn't listen and is infact just incredibly rude. Her interactions with our child were awkward and clumsy and we wondered if our child was the first child that this consultant had met outside of a book. It did not inspire any confidence at all and we will of course be asking our gp to refer to another hospital. Some of the nursing staff were very friendly and kind and there are a reasonable amount of toys etc to entertain during the very long waits between anything happening. It was nice that there was a chap there (a volunteer I think) who played some games on the computer but it is clear that without them ward 17 has the potential to be a very boring and dreary place for a child to be, even for short periods of time.

We are sorry that you are so dissatisfied with the recent visit to Ward 17 of Airedale Hospital. We very much wish to investigate your experience and urge you to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team on 01535 294019 to enable us to do so.
