"The approachfulness of staff, ..."

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The approachfulness of staff, and friendly dispoasition, which enables patients to feel at ease and involved.

Choice of appointments for follow up

What could be improved

Nurses not wearing gloves when taking blood - totally against infection control policies and guidelines. Gloves were available in the room - just not used

Having to trek around the hospital as he patient to get collection bottles - can't the staff either do this, or ensure they have a supply to hand

Out of date info on pathology sheet - gives wrong level information

Lifts - dirty, although being used by builders, but still unacceptable as patients also use these lifts

Pharmacy not taking debit card payments - hassle, especially when cashpoint is on different level, so more walking around needed.
